Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity; a genuine untouched M38 double decal paratrooper helmet! I was very lucky to find this beautiful lid last week at the Max show and it was already viewed by other experts like Willy Zahn and Ken Niewlarowicz who were stunned, just like I am now. The helmet is a classic late produced double decal in ca. 1939 or in the early 40’s already having the aluminum liner with black paddings. The brown brown straps with early PRYM H7 press buttons are complete and the bolts remain untouched and rusty. 2 Rubber paddings show damage, from the straps that have torned them. The leather of the liner is still soft and strong for its age. It’s maker marked by Karl Heisier, Berlin C2 D.R.G.M.a and it is size marked, Kopfweite Gr. 59, Stahlhaube Nr. 71. The outside of the helmet is covered in the classic 1938-39 ‘pea’ green color (somewhat darker then the earlier apple green) and has both decals on each side of the helmet present for over 80%, still showing nice details and patina. Above the eagle a bullet dent is clearly visible and this helmet must have safed someones life at one point. It is maker marked by ET on the side of the shell and size 71 (ET71). The lotnumber is the rear is 4534. Stunning untouched M38 double decal Fallschirmjäger helmet.
