MG34/42 ‘Patronenkasten 36’ armoured vehicle ammunition box 1939

Description

MG34 or MG42 vehicle mount ammuntion box (Patronenkasten 36). The box was capable of carrying a 150 round ammunition belt and was designed for use on armoured vehicles. The box still has its original pea-green paint and shows some surface rust and scratches caused by usage. The box is nicely maker marked by WF Co and dated 1939. A faded label is still present on the side from a 1950’s hardware store that the box contained 8×60 screws, this could be removed but I left it on there.
