Beautiful textbook M35 steel helmet, reissued example ca. 1941. This helmet, was factory reissued in the beginning of the war, receiving a new thick rough field green layer of paint and a new decal. The decal is a textbook example that I like to see on reissued helmets, being produced by Methner and Burger (Grey lined eagle). It shows sharp details and is nearly 100% intact. The helmet is complete with its liner and you can cleary see the split pins are untouched. The leather itself is a bit stiff and shows a few damages. The helmet is complete with its full lenght draw string and chin strap. Interesting is the remains of white chalk on the vent holes, telling us this helmet was once white washed (with removable chalk) for the winter. Because of the thick paint, the maker mark and size mark are not visible, but the lotnumber 20693 is. The font style of the lot number is typical for the firm of E.F. in my opinion, the size is a 66 (after comparing with a similar example). A beautiful UNTOUCHED M35 army steel helmet!
