M42 army (Heer) ‘Rautarn’ woodchip camouflage helmet NS62

Description

Very attractive mid war produced M42 helmet by NS. The lot number D218  indicates this helmet was most likely a single decal army one, but the shield remains hidden under the thick camouflage paint. Thick green saw dust/woodchip mixed paint coveres the exterior, that is still nearly 95% present today and just looks amazing. The liner is in good condition and still has its full lenght draw string present. It is size marked ’55’. The helmet was found without split pins, and the ones you see today are genuine examples that were added to complete this helmet again. Maker marked shell by NS, size 62 – lot number D218. A stunning and very desirable ‘Rautarn’ helmet!
