Interesting and worn infantry crusher cap for officers. Beautiful example with period applied insignia up front. The cap must have been made around 1938 when the insignia switched from tan backing into bottle green, this example had one of each (early tan backed eagle and bottle green cocarde). Both insignia are well sunk into the cap and have a matching patina. White infantry piping surounds the cap. There are no major damages or moth holes present. The visor cap shows some small period reinforcements on the edges. The leather sweatband inside is complete but the stitching is a bit loose in the rear. Typical early lining in blue/purple cotton. The visor has a very attractive shape and would look good on any combat display. Size +-55-56.
