Nice and honest M40 army steel helmet. The rough paint job makes me think this is a factory re-issue ca. 1942. The liner is original to the helmet and dated 1940, but the split pins are a bit crooked because somebody tightend the rivets. Comes with an early aluminum chin strap, that is worth a small fortune when sold seperatly on todays markets – it’s maker marked and dated but it’s all a bit faded. Original draw string is still present. The decal is a classic E.T. decal that matches the maker of this helmet; ET (size 64). Lot number 4887. Nice worn army helmet in good, worn, condition.
